MIS' Implants Surface
All MIS' implants are sand-blasted and acid etched. This surface treatment increases the implant's surface area, creating both micro and nano-structure and eliminating various surface contaminations. The acid etching and cleaning process is performed in a clean room to ensure best quality and purity of the surface. Sand-blasted and acid etched surfaces have been substantially proven to maximize the BIC (Bone to Implant Contact), achieving better osseointegration results compared to other surface treatment methods.
All MIS' implants are made of Ti 6AL-4V ELI (Grade 23), the higher purity version of Ti 6Al-4V. This specific type of alloy combines biocompatibility, excellent fatigue strength and low elastic modulus. These benefits make Ti 6AL-4V ELI mechanically superior to titanium grade 4 and the ultimate dental and medical titanium grade. Similarly to commercially pure titanium (Grades 1-4), MIS' implant's outer surface consists of a thin layer of pure titanium oxide (TiO2).
* The surface treatment described is not relevant for orthodontic screws and provisional implants.
